  13. |RHistory:|N Nauru was discovered by the British in 1798 and became a German protectorate in 1888. A mandatory under Great Britain 1920 to 1947. Occupied by Japan during World War I.
  14. Under joint administration of Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain from 1947 and a fully independent country in 1968.
